AMA--Fairfield
County to Host Its First-Ever Silent Auction to Benefit Dress for
Success
October 22, 2003
The American
Marketing Association--Fairfield County Chapter has selected Dress
For Success: Mid Fairfield County as the Beneficiary Charity for
its first-ever Silent Auction. The Silent Auction will be held on
November 11, 2003, beginning at 6:00 pm, at Riverview Manor at 301
Merritt Seven in Norwalk as part of the Chapter's Fall Networking
Meeting.
"We're excited
about this opportunity to support a local organization that helps
women entering or re-entering the workforce," says Chuck DeNicolo,
Chapter President. "Our networking meetings have always been popular
with our members. This year, we're adding something new--the chance
to bid on some wonderful products and services and help a good cause."
He added, "We have gift baskets, artwork and catering for a Super
Bowl party. You can even bid on a personal training session or an
hour of career coaching."
Dress for Success
is a not-for-profit organization that provides interview suits,
confidence boosts and career development to help low-income women
make tailored transitions into the workforce. The Dress for Success
Professional Women's Group program then provides ongoing support
to help clients build a successful career.

New
Chapter President Chuck deNicolo and Board of Directors Elected
August 26, 2003
The AMA Fairfield
County Chapter conducted elections in the spring for the 2003-2004
Board of Directors. Chuck deNicolo was elected President. Chuck
is a National Account Manager for Military & Government Locations
of Doctor's Associates Inc., the parent corporation of the Subway
restaurant chain. He holds a BA in Business Economics from Southern
Connecticut State University, New Haven. An AMA Member since 1998,
Chuck was previously Vice President, Programs for the chapter. Mike
Donovan was elected President-Elect and will also continue as Vice
President, Programs.
Re-elected to
their current positions are:
Frank Moriya--Treasurer
Kathleen Lombardo--Secretary
Lynne Coll--Vice President, Communications
Lisa Delventhal--Vice President, Membership
The President,
President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, Programs,
Vice President, Communications and Vice President, Membership make
up the Executive Committee.
In addition,
Nancy Nygreen, Immediate Past President of the Fairfield County
Chapter and 2002 winner of the Dr. Frank E. Moriya Outstanding Member
Award, has been appointed to the newly created position of Vice
President, Volunteers. Nancy's goal is to develop and strengthen
a core group of chapter volunteers focusing on Communications, Membership
and Programs.

Fairfield County Names Lynne Coll Outstanding Member
June 11, 2003
The AMA Fairfield
County Chapter recently presented its Dr. Frank E. Moriya Outstanding
Member Award to the Chapter's current Vice President of Communications,
Lynne Coll.
Vice President,
Awards, Patricia Hannigan presented the award to Lynne, citing her
efforts on member communications and public relations. Earlier this
year, Lynne was selected to represent the chapter at the 2003 Leadership
Summit of the American Marketing Association.
The Frank E.
Moriya Outstanding Member Award, established in 1999, is presented
annually in recognition of a member's contributions to the Chapter.
It is named in honor of Chapter Treasurer and long-time member,
Frank E. Moriya. Previous winners include Nancy Nygreen, Immediate
Past Chapter President, and Michaela Tiffen, Chapter Photographer.

Chapter's
Networking Table Makes Successful Debut
April 29, 2003
The AMA Fairfield
County Chapter launched its first Networking Table at its April
8 monthly meeting in Norwalk.
Marketers attending
the meeting were able to display their business cards, company brochures,
ID-ROMS, and other promotional materials on the Networking Table.
"The response to our first Networking Table was very positive,"said
Nancy Nygreen, Chapter President. "We plan to have the Networking
Table set up at future meetings and I encourage all those attending
to showcase their company's capabilities by placing their marketing
information on the table."

Nancy
Nygreen Receives Outstanding Member Award
October 24, 2002
The AMA Fairfield County Chapter recently presented its
Dr. Frank E. Moriya Outstanding Member Award to current Chapter
President, Dr. Nancy Nygreen.
In presenting the award, Kathleen Lombardo, Chapter Secretary and
Awards Chairperson, thanked Dr. Nygreen for her dedication, hard
work, and outstanding leadership on behalf of the chapter during
the past year. In accepting the award, Dr. Nygreen thanked the chapter
for the honor and collectively praised the chapter members whose
efforts and teamwork had contributed so much, she said, to membership
growth, truly great programming, enhancements in chapter communications,
and numerous other noteworthy accomplishments and milestones.
The Dr. Frank E. Moriya Outstanding Member Award is presented annually
in recognition of a member’s outstanding contributions to
the chapter, and is named in honor of Dr. Frank E. Moriya, Chapter
Treasurer, and a long-time member of the chapter. Dr. Nygreen is
currently President of Nygreen Management, a market research and
consulting firm.

Website for AMA Fairfield County
September 2, 2002
The Fairfield
County Chapter of the American Marketing Association proudly announces
its brand new website.
Speaking at
a recent board meeting, Nancy Nygreen, President of the chapter,
said "I'm really excited about our new website. I think it
will make it much easier for members and area marketing professionals
to learn about the chapter and to get information about upcoming
chapter events. We're grateful to the members of our communications
committee for helping to develop the site, and especially to Rick
Ritacco, President of Visidia, for building the site. We look forward
to making the site even more useful in the future."
Chapter members
who contributed to developing the site include: Susan Carbine; Chuck
deNicolo, Subway; Caitlin McConnoughy; Nancy Nygreen, Nygreen Management;
Scott Price, Price Communications; and Rick Ritacco, Visidia.
